Experienced Mobile Commercial & Agricultural Tyre Technician
- Bury St Edmunds
Role
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Commercial and Agricultural Tyre Technician to join our busy team.
Location
We are looking for someone who lives within a 15 mile radius of any of our branches in Sudbury, Haverhill, Diss, Saffron Walden, or Stowmarket.
Duties
Attending farms, roadside and customers sites to service, repair or replace commercial and agricultural tyres
Skills/Qualifications
Experience in commercial / agricultural tyre fitting is essential
Ability to follow instructions and strictly adhere to health and safety policy
Able to work on own initiative and as part as a team
Have a full UK driving licence.
Hours
Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.30pm
Every other Saturday 8.00am – 12.30pm
We are closed Sundays and Bank Holidays (with the exception of Good Friday where you can work with overtime but this is not compulsory)

Mobile Commercial & Agricultural Tyre Technician

Role

Who are we looking for?
- Experience: Essential background in commercial or agricultural tyre fitting.
- License: A full UK driving licence is required.
- Location: Ideally based within 20 miles of our branches (specifically the Haverhill/Saffron Walden/South Cambridge area). Applicants should not be based north of Cambridge
- Mindset: Someone who is self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working on-site.

About Treadfirst
Treadfirst is a well-respected, family-run independent tyre retailer and MOT/Service centre with a 40-year history of excellence. With continued growth across East Anglia, we are looking for a motivated and professional Manager to lead our busy Stowmarket team.
Role
This position is designed for a highly capable leader who can oversee the entire service and repair process from start to finish
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be the face of the branch. While you aren’t expected to “jump on the tools” for daily repairs, strong technical knowledge is essential to effectively manage the workshop, provide accurate advice to customers, and ensure quality control across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Organising the e-diary, delegating workloads, and ensuring an efficient, productive workflow.
- Customer Excellence: Providing expert advice and transparent quotes (face-to-face, phone, and email), ensuring every customer receives the “Treadfirst” standard of service.
- Team Management: Overseeing the team’s wellbeing, assisting with training and development, and ensuring the team is clear on their roles and safety responsibilities.
- Compliance: Maintaining meticulous paperwork and electronic records while ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety practices.
- Performance: Driving sales, managing margins, and meeting profit targets to ensure the branch continues to thrive.
Experience & Requirements
- Automotive Background: Minimum of 5 years of experience within an automotive environment is essential.
- Technical Knowledge: You must have a deep understanding of vehicle mechanics and tyres to provide expert guidance and oversee the workshop effectively.
- Leadership Ready: A professional who is ready to step up to a management challenge and has a passion for helping a team succeed.

- Saturdays: 8:00 am – 12:30 pm (Every other week)
